SCHOLARSHIPS
Houston Chapter #33 Scholarship Program
To help realize our mission of enabling women in all accounting, finance and related fields to achieve their full personal, professional and economic potential and to contribute to the future development of their profession, the Houston Chapter has established a scholarship program for local accounting and finance students. Interested students should submit their completed scholarship applications by April 1 for consideration. The scholarship committee will select recipients based on several criteria including, participation in AFWA events, essay, recommendations and academic achievement. Scholarships will be awarded to recipients during our Annual Scholarship Award Event in May of the following year.

In addition to chapter scholarships, scholarships are available through The Foundation of Accounting and Financial Woman's Alliance. Visit the The Foundation of Accounting and Financial Woman's Alliance for additional information on national AFWA scholarships offered by The Foundation. Chapters submit applications to The Foundation for consideration for Foundation scholarships.
The Foundation of AFWA Academic Scholarships
The Foundation of AFWA is now accepting finance and accounting scholorships for undergrad and masters Students. Students do not need to be a member of AFWA or affiliated with a local chapter. However, an endorsement by a Chapter or Member of AFWA may increase your chances of earning a scholarship from the Foundation. Please visit the AFWA National website for more information.
Undergraduate Scholarships - For those attending an accredited College or University in their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of study, and are pursuing an accounting or finance degree.
Master’s Scholarships - For those attending an accredited College or University enrolled in a master’s program, and are pursuing an accounting or finance degree.
